Late Diagnosed ADHD

Late-Diagnosed ADHD, Motherhood, and Medication with Anna Oliver

In Episode 2 of ADHD Her Way, we discuss the topic of late diagnosis of ADHD during the postpartum period with our guest, Anna Oliver. Anna, a passionate Psychologist and mental health advocate, shares her personal journey of being recently diagnosed with ADHD and her experiences navigating this unique aspect of her life.

During this raw and vulnerable conversation, we provide a glimpse into the assessment and treatment process for ADHD in adults. Anna sheds light on her own path to diagnosis and the challenges she faced as a female, more specifically a mother. We also discuss ADHD medication, its role in managing symptoms, and the importance of individualized treatment plans.
We also touch on the ADHD research, or rather, the lack thereof, especially during the postpartum period. We discuss the need for more comprehensive research and understanding of ADHD in women's lives, advocating for greater awareness and support.

The research discussed in this episode can be found inside Episode 454 of ADHD Expert Podcast ft. Allison Baker.
